Meet Carlo Acutis, the English-Born Italian Teen Slated to Become the Newest Saint
Childhood and Miracles
Carlo Acutis was born in London, England, on May 3, 1991, to Italian parents. From a young age, Acutis displayed a deep devotion to the Catholic faith, spending hours in prayer and studying the lives of saints. He also developed a passion for computer science and used his skills to create websites documenting Eucharistic miracles.
Recognition from the Vatican
In 2024, Pope Francis recognized the second miracle needed for Acutis' canonization. This recognition came after years of investigation into Acutis' life and alleged miracles, including the unexplainable healing of a young boy from a rare pancreatic disease.
