Caleb Williams, the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, has reportedly agreed to a fully guaranteed four-year, $395 million contract with the Chicago Bears.
The deal, which was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, makes Williams the highest-paid player in NFL history. The previous record was held by Deshaun Watson, who signed a four-year, $230 million contract with the Cleveland Browns in 2022.
Williams is considered one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2022 after leading the University of Southern California to the College Football Playoff. Williams is known for his strong arm, mobility, and flair for the dramatic.
The Bears are hoping that Williams can be the franchise quarterback they have been looking for. The team has not had a consistent starting quarterback since Jay Cutler left in 2017.
